Especially in times of misery. In 1841, in the Provincial Gazette of Pavia of 6 July, in Official Records we read: Notice –on the morning of 21 June, the last course, a sheep was collected floating on the Po River’ towards Sponda Piacentina at the place called Calendasco, which threatened to drown. Anyone who has lost it will be able to turn to this IR Police Office justifying being the owner. Pavia 1 July 1841.
Really interesting, you can make a lot of comments, even ironic ones but not a lot! Given the moons we are experiencing today.
Just the fact that in Pavia –which is not just a stone's throw away – people took the trouble to report it… The lost sheep found the sheepfold? Mha, who knows! In any case, this little news seems like an excellent metaphor to me.
